Ans: The major acts of intellectual property are as follows: 

For functional and technical inventions, there is Patents Act, 1970 and amended in 1999 ,2000 and 2005. Patent provides the exclusive rights to the invention for a certain period of time.

For purely artistic works, there is Copyright act, 1957 and amended in 1982, 1984, 1992, 1994, &1999. Copyright protects the original work of authorship.

For symbol, logo, word, sound, colour, design, etc, there is trademark act, 1999 amended in  2000. Trademark protects the product from making similar product.
